Profile
Andrei was a COSMORUS satellite engineer who worked alongside SOMBRA in constructing a satellite. He had blonde hair, and was wearing his white lab coat at the time of his death.
Murder details
Andrei was found at the top of Mount Khan with his body partially sliced in half by a blade. According to Angela, the slice from the shoulder to the hip was the main cause of death, caused by a single-edged blade. The injury itself would require a lot of force, as well as skill and knowledge in the art of swordsmanship. This meant Andrei's killer knew sword fighting.
Alongside the body, the blade that killed him was found at Mount Khan. Some hairs were found on the handle, and they were then sent to Lars for analysis. He found that the hairs belonged to a horse, which was not surprising as horses are an integral part of Mongolian culture. This meant that Andrei's killer rode horses.
Killer and motives
The killer turned out to be a horse breeder named Tsetseg.
Carmen assumed that Tsetseg had killed Andrei because he had left her horse on Mount Khan to suffer and die alone. After she presented the last pieces of evidence to the killer, Tsetseg admitted that she had gotten sloppy on weapon techniques and that she would never had made a mistake in the past. Tsetseg told the team that she was, and still is, one of the world’s greatest hitwomen, but her job with Andrei would be the last job she would take before retiring to focus on running the family stables. She admitted that she was stupid to accept an offer from SOMBRA to kill Andrei. Getting the message that Andrei had worked for SOMBRA, Carmen asked the horse breeder if the satellite was complete. However, Tsetseg refused to answer, saying that she said too much. As she had also told Judge Adaku that she had said too much, the judge did not hesitate to sentence her to 30 years in prison.
