Blood Bath is a case featured in Criminal Case as the twenty-ninth case of Mysteries of the Past (Season 4) and the two-hundredth case overall. It takes place in the Coyote Gorge district of Concordia.

Plot

In the town of Providence, Maddie and the player went to the Fat Chance Saloon to take Vinnie Costa to the courtroom, only to find him dead in the bathtub, his throat slit. Since Rose Zhao, his designated bodyguard, failed to protect him, she was flagged as a suspect.

During the investigation, the team discovered the residents of Providence left en masse. Later on, the team was sent a live rattlesnake in a package to scare them. Eventually, they found enough evidence to arrest travelling cowboy Clay Westwood for the murder.

Westwood denied involvement but soon admitted to the crime. Thinking highly of Capecchi's actions, Westwood believed that he would bring progress to Coyote Gorge with the construction of the railway. When he found out that the victim was attempting to testify against him, Westwood decided to assassinate him. Using an explosion to distract Rose, Westwood entered the victim's bedroom with a stolen master key and slit Costa's throat with a broken bottle. Judge Lawson sentenced him to 25 years in jail.

After the trial, Capecchi and other members of his gang challenged the Concordian Flying Squad to a shootout, and the squad was forced to participate. After the first round, Evie was shot non-fatally with a bullet, and the team ran out of ammunition. As Dick tended to Evie's wounds, Charlie crafted more ammunition out of metal tableware.

Capecchi's gang members returned for a second round, and this time assisted by bounty hunter Catastrophe Joan, the team overpowered the gang, forcing Capecchi to retreat. The team decided to follow Capecchi to his estate in order to apprehend him.
