Events of Criminal Case
Fiona was interrogated after the player and Jack found a gift box for her sent from the victim. She was sad to hear of her husband's death, especially on their 20th anniversary. She explained that she and her husband were in Dubai on an anniversary trip, and explained that Seamus retired from the weapons business after their son died three years ago. When asked if anyone wanted him dead, she explained that since he left the weapons business, there would not be anyone. She explained that they might want to check the victim's money, as he always had pocket cash in order to get out of a sticky situation. Since that money was not with the victim, Jack and the player believed someone stole it before they got there.
Fiona was interrogated again regarding her argument with Vanna Alabama. She said she found out that Vanna slept with the victim, and they were actually in Dubai on a business trip. She deduced that all the gifts for her were just to keep her distracted, always buying people's loyalty with money. When Jack suggested she might have killed Seamus for his lying and cheating, Fiona said that she is generally a calm person and would never do anything like that.
At the investigation's climax, Fiona was revealed to be her husband's killer. Jack assumed Fiona killed her husband because he was cheating on her with popstar Vanna Alabama. Fiona kept denying her actions of killing her husband until Jack pulled the trigger with the evidence of her using her husband’s own gun to kill him and finding her earring back at the same place the weapon was. Fiona finally confessed to the murder, but claimed she did it because her husband had killed their son, Damien Cummings. Fiona explained that she was told the murder had been a drive-by at the wrong place and the wrong time. She had worked hard to rebuild her life due to how much the event destroyed her, but she found out the event was a lie a few months before. Fiona confessed that her son had actually been playing with Seamus's gun, only to accidentally shoot himself with the forbidden firearm and the latter covered it up. Jack was understanding of her situation, but told her that it did not justify murder and sent her to trial.
During the trial, Judge Adaku initially asked Fiona how the golf course was when she murdered her husband rather than what she thought about her actions. Fiona was shocked when he asked her that question and asked him if he had no soul because of what she had been through. The judge reminded her of the saying “you live by the fire, you die by the fire,” and sentenced her to 10 years in prison.
