Events of Criminal Case

Maya became a suspect after Jack and the player had found a clipboard detailing her work on the victim. Because of how interested she was, Marina decided to interrogate her alongside the player. Maya said Riaja had terrible delusions, and the victim had trouble trusting her. When informed of the murder, Maya said she felt bad things would happen. When asked about her work for SOMBRA, she said the client was to remain anonymous.

Maya was interrogated again about a voice recorder, which proved she was working for SOMBRA. When Jack suggested she killed Riaja because she did not respond well to the brainwashing, Maya insisted that she was not a murderer. She said her job within SOMBRA was to evaluate the youths who pass through the camp and report her findings. When she suspects they are trouble, she tries to help them and does not hurt them.

In the end, Maya was found to be the killer of Riaja. Maya admitted she shot Riaja with the fishing spear after she fought SOMBRA’s brainwashing and fled the camp before completing the ‘next level’ program. Judge Adaku sentenced her to 30 years in jail for the murder of Riaja Somalinggi and the refusal to cooperate with the authorities.
