Events of Criminal Case

Melvin was first interrogated when Jack and the player discovered that he was in regular contact with the victim. He was surprised to hear of Kariuki's death, saying that he was the one who issued the victim's tour guide permit. When Jack asked if he knew about the victim's elephant poaching scheme, Melvin seemed skeptical since they did not seem to have any proof of it.

Melvin was interrogated again after cigar leaves were found on a note to the victim, which said his operation would fall without him. He said it was just a simple misunderstanding, that the threat was just him warning the victim that he would take away his permit if he kept misinforming tourists about the local flora. Jack was sure he was in on the victim's ivory trade, but Melvin kept denying it saying the victim just gave him gifts so he would keep his safari guide permit.

Melvin was later proven to be innocent after Nyota Adhiambo was incarcerated for Kariuki's murder.
