Events of Criminal Case

Jones and the player first investigated Gerald as "Opera Phantom" when they found a brick that Gerald threw on them at the Opera entrance. Jones warned the Opera Phantom that attacking the police with bricks was considered a criminal offense, but he was more concerned about the threats Gerald wrote to Roland, but Gerald told the team that "a medusa" killed Roland, and given those details, the team had to chit-chat with Harper Stone regarding Gerald.

Once the team managed to examine a Phantom photo revealing that his real name was Gerald Riverton, he was interrogated a second time in the interrogation room regarding about his Phantom masquerade, which made him a prime suspect in the murder case. Gerald told the team that Roland fired him because Roland stated that he needed a new talent for the Opera, namely for the play "Madama Serpent". Gerald said that he could handle snakes, but nothing seemed to impress Roland.

Gerald was proven innocent (and needed no further check-ups) when it was proven through investigation and at the Grimsborough Court that Annabel Stewart slew Roland Vane.

While Gerald did not appear in Additional Investigation, he was implicated during the events of Beatrice Vane's check-up. The team suggested Beatrice to press charges against Gerald for the theft of her harpsichord, but Beatrice felt that Gerald was harmless and she did not want to fry old fishes any further than needed.
