Events of Criminal Case

Richie is the CEO of the JTS channel based in Pacific Bay.

Richie found himself in trouble when the team found a JTS-owned tablet detailing viewership ratings for every show airing on the JTS network. Richie told Amy Young and the player he fired the victim after seeing a sharp decline in viewer ratings and blamed the victim for the slump of ratings. Much of the reason as to why JTS suffered a slump in viewer ratings was due to Clifford's lack of coverage of the Hurricane Yves affair but Amy countered that other people in Jazz Town suffered because of Hurricane Yves although Richie's company was suffering due to a viewer rating slump.

Richie's Announcement on TV

Richie announcing Clifford's death on TV.

Richie was due for a second conversation after Chief Marquez's intervention with Richie's televised announcement of Clifford's death in which Amy was smart enough to talk to Richie in an instant. Amy told Richie that talking about a murder and inciting the public to celebrate it obstructs justice but Richie felt the audience would benefit from a form of entertainment from time to time. Although Richie owned the station (giving him powers to make his own rules), Amy labeled Richie as a prime suspect due to Richie's intention to use Grady's murder as an excuse to entertain Jazz Town and to bolster viewer ratings at all costs.

Richie's greed for greater viewer ratings had nothing to do with the murder once the killer was impounded.
